As
a young boy growing up in the heart of Cajun country in Louisiana, John
was greatly inspired to play the guitar and sing from an uncle who was a
regular country western performer on a local country show called The
Louisiana Hayride.
He received his first guitar at the age
of 17 and began teaching himself to play it. By listening to
Hank Williams records he developed his country style of playing and
singing. At age 18 he formed his first country band called 2
Cajuns Plus One.
John has over 30 years of playing
experience as a folk and country guitar player. He has written
seven country-gospel songs and, in 2003, completed his first CD entitled
Scooter & Doc's Gospel Jubilee, Ole Time Gospel Music. |
